Yesterday Landen & I ran errands for part of the afternoon. On of our stops, I think it was our last stop, was to Wal-Mart. I happened to notice that he was "playing" with his left ear quite a bit. He wasn't acting like it hurt or anything like that, just trying to stick his finger in there and playing with the outside. So I decided to take a peek, I can't see anything except for what appears to be dried blood. I was completely stumped, b/c "why would there be dried blood in his ear?"
I called the nurse advisor line (yes, I was in the vegetable aisle in Wally World) and the nurse really didn't have much advice for me at all which kind of upset me b/c I had no idea if there was something in there or not. So I took it upon myself take him in to the clinic.
We got there and the doctor was using the ear thingy to look inside his ear, and Landen was just screaming (but he had started screaming as soon as the doctor came in the room), he said he couldn't see anything b/c of all of the blood. "Okay, whoa". I almost on the verge of freaking out b/c I had no idea that there was a lot of blood in there. I asked if he thought something was stuck in there and he said "I have no idea I can't see a thing in there but blood, me "Is there a lot of blood?" doctor, "yeah, a lot, sit tight I need to go make a phone call". Oh my goodness, now I really am starting to freak out. He came back after about 5 minutes and said that he had called on of the Pediatricians (he was an urgent care doctor) an they said that he is just starting to get an ear infection and that is what can happen after they get tubes, I was instantly relieved, all though I made him make sure there wasn't anything else in there and there wasn't. Yikes, talk about making my anxiety rise to high levels!
