Remember when I said......

that Landen was doing really good at the whole being in a "big-boy bed " thing....... yah, not so much. He has gotten up EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, and comes into our room, stands on my side of the bed and says"Mommy....."
I have not a clue as to what to do about this. Did this happen to any of you when you switched your children to a toddler bed?

It happended alot with tessa. I would try to put her back an bed and she would get mad. I hate to say we ended up baby gating her door and closing it, then she would have no where to go so she would go to sleep. Levi did the same but with him, I would just pick him up, and not say anything to him, and take him back to bed and give him a quick goodnight. When he figured out he wasnt getting anything including a reaction he went to sleep.

We have always shut Kallen's door so he can't get out (okay...that sounds bad), and if in the rare occasion he gets up playing...he ends up back in bed when he gets tired enough because there's no where else to go.

Now if little Landen opens doors, or has figured out the little plastic door knob locks, then I am at a loss right along with you!

Good Luck, and hang in there. Keep putting him back to bed, and eventually he'll figure it out! Right???

So funny...It didn't happen when Avery was younger, but it sure did when she was 4! She'd come in and do the same thing, and gosh darn it, I was SOOOO tired, the last thing I wanted to do was get out of bed and deal with it. So, sometimes she'd just sleep with me! Now, she usually sleeps alone in her bed, but I enjoy the cuddles when I can get them! After all, someday we're going to wish they wanted us in the middle of the night, right? :)

when my daughter was about 3-ish we had this problem for a while. we would take her back to bed. then she wouldn't even try to wake us. we would get up in the morning and she would be curled up on the floor next to our bed. as bad as it sounds, we started leaving a blanket for her. we didn't want her to be cold. and for some reason, she just started staying in her own bed. now, my son on the other hand, we bought another gate when we bought his toddler bed. he is such a monkey and didn't want him to get hurt being up and about in the middle of the night. it worked well for quite awhile. now we don't need it at all. they both sleep like logs!

We STILL have this problem. Justice was the BEST sleeper, the first 18 months. Then she learned to crawl out of her crib, and it was all down hill from there. We have the door handles that are levers, not knobs, so we can't just "lock" her in her room. And Im honestly too out of it at 1am, to keep taking her back to bed. SOO, most nights she ends up in our room. Im know, "Naughty Parents" :)
