...and that is just what it is doing outside right now.
I am at home on my couch, immobile in fear that I might throw up again.
I'm beat. Physically and mentally beat and exhausted.
Yesterday I was at work, the day before I had been having some serious sharp pains in the back of my head, kind of behind my ear. I have had these about twice a year over a period of several years. But it was never as bad as it was yesterday, never.
I went into walk in and waited for over an hour to see someone, and ta this point the pain is so bad that I am wincing with every shock/stabbing that occurs, man, I tell ya, that sucked.
Long story short he isn't sure what is causing the pain so they send me down for a CT Scan. It comes back normal, phew! This particular doctor consults some other doctors and they say I need to see someone in Neurology, so they get me in the same day. Before I leave they give me a shot of something in my butt cheek and it makes the pain go, however it brought on instant nausea, instant. So they give me Zofran to get rid of the nausea, but it only makes it worse... what?
So my sister drives me to Neurology downtown and the Dr. does some testing on me and asks me all these questions (of course, standard protocol), she says I have what is called "Neuralgia"(p.s. in the link, it says something about shingles or Herpes, just so you know I do NOT have either one of those things).
So I have an MRI scheduled in a week or so, and from what I gathered was she is scheduling it because she wants to make sure I don't have an aneurysm. Uh ya.. how much of a bummer would that be!
So here I am, on my couch, nauseous, head pain, complaining , and what else is there to do but nap? Blog complain of course.
Of course.

Oh Kim, that's terrible. At least they are being pro-active about it, and trying to get to the bottom of it.
Good luck, keep us posted
Hi there, surfed onto your blog from another blog... anyways, I have had this same pain for quite a while too. All the tests have come back fine, but nobody has ever figured out what the heck the pain is. You described it exactly the same as it is for me. Kinda something that has come and gone, but when it is flaring, its horrible. I am adding you to my feedreader to see how things pan out for you. I have not tried lyrica, as I didn't want the side effects, but have tried many other meds for neuralgia without much luck. I did also do the injections in my head (trigger point injections and nerve block injections) and they were not nearly as bad as they sound, just scalp ached a few days after. Also tried Botox injections for the pain (done by neurologist) and those weren't successful either. I hope the lyrica is the answer for you and that the problem goes away. Praying...
I jumped over here from another blog. I've had pains like that in the past too and had them bad enough to see a neurologist. Of course they didn't find anything. And, I haven't had them for probably eight months or so, knock on wood! I'm glad you don't have an aneurysm and hope the pains go away soon!
