School and a 1/4 life crisis?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Well here I am. Sitting and wondering if I should go back to school to better myself? But what would I go back for? Well I have thought a lot about it the past couple of days and I thought why not Graphic Design at our local Technical College? Along with "just thinking" about school comes a lot of other thoughts pondering around in this head of mine. I think it would be good for my Photography business but what am I going to do with work? Am I going to go full time or part time? What exactly will I do with it after Ia m done with school? Do I really think that I can finish something? Will people laugh at me b/c they think it's a waste of time? ( I actually really dont care all that much what other people will think)

At a loss, and think it has to do with a quarter life crisis.

I think that you should go for it. If not you are just going to think "what if". You have my support with whatever decision that you do. I would tell you if I thought it was a dumb idea and I don't think that at all. You just need to make sure you can do it (financially). You might have to be really strict with your spending for the next couple of years but it will be a small struggle for a few years but a huge improvement for you life. School is not always for everyone but if you have the thirst for it, "go for it with full force". No matter what, you keep in mind you can do anything that you set your mind to it.

Wow Congrats Kim! Graphic design is a fun field though I will warn you..its very competitive and you have to start at the bottom, however I love it! I think your photography is awesome and if you can apply that to graphic design..you would rock.

Congratulations to you for being so driven to better yourself!

Graphic design is a great field - I was a designer for 10 years and really enjoyed my work (I still freelance on the side). There are a lot of great things you can learn in design school that will be helpful in photography as well. But I do agree that it is highly competitive.

Speaking of that, have you considered going to school for photography AND business? I know that might sound boring, but I have found some of the best (and most successful) photographers I know are the ones with great business sense. It's the one thing I regret from college - not taking business courses.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do! Have fun! :)

Quarter life crisis is a MUST! I think you should start getting your ducks in a row and do some MASSIVE research - I think a mom/ and 25+ can get some grants from the gov ~ Give it some thought - school is NEVER a bad idea but who has the time???
